Sabine Peternell

Sabine Peternell studied dramatics, history of art and journalism at the University of Vienna, attaining her Masters of Philosophy.

2003 Sabine Peternell finished a Masters of Applied Science program in Cultural Management at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
Ms Peternell has worked at the Burgtheater in Vienna, she was personal assistant of Prof. Wolf D. Prix at Coop Himmelb(l)au, and has been employed at the University of Applied Arts Vienna since 1996 where she is doing the Management of the Institute of Architecture. Since 2012 she is the CEO of the Postgraduate Program Urban Strategies.

RESEARCH PROJECTS

2002-2003 “Kulturwirtschaft Schweiz“
International comparative study with a focus on design.
Focusing on a defined core area of the cultural industry and targeting an international context, methodological principles were clarified and basis data was calculated.
Resulting information and data was processed with respect to the entire, employment and culture economical discourse, and was subsequently applied to a selected area.

2003 “Erster Österreichische Kreativwirtschaftsbericht“
An Austrian study to record the importance of the Austrian creative industries. Besides estimating the economic potentials, the primary goal was to deduce the resulting recommendations and selected main areas to be of use in policy-making.

Consultancy of the updating of the first report of the creative industries in Austria.
